Gambaran Keilmuan

Organisasi adalah sekumpulan individu yang berkumpul karena memiliki tujuan bersama, dan menyepakati distribusi hak dan kewajiban untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut. Agar organisasi dapat mencapai tujuan dengan efektif dan efisien, organisasi tersebut perlu mampu mengelola salah satu aset mereka, yaitu manusianya. Organisasi perlu mengerti dinamika tingkahlaku manusia dalam situasi organisasi.

Psikologi Industri dan Organisasi (PIO) menerapkan teori dan kaidah-kaidah tingkah laku dalam konteks organisasi yang dimaksud tersebut. PIO bertujuan meningkatkan produktivitas organisasi komersil maupun nirlaba. Kajian PIO mencakup dua ranah umum, yaitu tingkah laku organisasi dan manajemen sumber daya manusia. Pada kedua ranah ini PIO mempelajari tingkah laku individu, kelompok, dan organisasi.

Beberapa area kunci penelitian yang menggambarkan PIO adalah pelatihan dan pengembangan, seleksi karyawan, manajemen kinerja, keragaman di lingkungan kerja (workplace diversity), kepemimpinan, motivasi kerja, teamwork, dan lain-lain

Area Penelitian:

  • perilaku manusia dalam konteks organisasi dan psikologi konsumen seperti kepemimpinan, kesiapan untuk perubahan, komitmen, modal psikologis, keterlibatan kerja, keterikatan, pembicaraan dari mulut ke mulut, dan belanja online

  • metode penilaian untuk mengidentifikasi masalah dan potensi individu atau kelompok dalam sebuah organisasi

  • individual atau intervensi psikologis kelompok untuk mendukung pencapaian organisasi
